A Classroom Inside a Palace
Virasat's Royal Educational Trip turns a day out into a living history lesson. Set in the golden Swarn Mahal darbar — with its carved jharokhas, painted ceilings and throne — students experience the customs of a Rajput court first-hand: the ceremonial welcome with tilak and charan-dhulai, the royal walk under a chhatri, dressing as kings and queens, and being seated in the darbar for an audience with the 'royal court'.
Guided heritage classes then unpack what they have just lived: the history of Rajasthan's kingdoms, the architecture of forts and havelis, the meaning behind traditional attire and rituals, folk music instruments, dance forms, arts & crafts, and the food culture of the desert state.
The day concludes with a Sampoorna Rajasthani Thali served on floor seating — an edible lesson in regional cuisine, geography and hospitality (Padharo Mhare Des).
The Royal Experience
Royal Welcome Ritual
Students are received like a visiting royal delegation — dhol, flower shower, tilak, aarti and the traditional charan-dhulai (feet washing) — and learn the meaning behind each gesture of Rajasthani atithi-satkar.
Kings & Queens Dress-Up
Safa tying, angrakha, odhni and traditional jewellery — a hands-on session on royal costume, regional turban styles and what colours and fabrics signified in courtly Rajasthan.
Royal Walk & Darbar Seating
A procession through palace corridors to the darbar hall, where students take their seats before the throne and understand how a royal court functioned — protocol, positions and the role of the raja.
Heritage Classes
Interactive sessions on the history of Rajasthan's kingdoms, fort & haveli architecture, miniature painting, folk traditions, festivals and the arms & armour (shastra) of Rajput warriors.
Folk Music & Dance Workshop
Live demonstrations of ravanhatta, dholak, morchang and khartal, plus ghoomar, kalbeliya and bhavai dance — with students invited to try the instruments and steps.
Rajasthani Food Culture
Why dal-baati-churma, ker-sangri and gatte define desert cuisine — followed by a pure-veg thali on bajot floor seating with brass thalis, the way a royal bhoj was served.

Which classes / age groups is the trip suited for?+
From pre-primary to senior secondary and college groups. Heritage-class content, activities and duration are adjusted to the age and syllabus of the group.
How many students can you host at once?+
The darbar hall and additional venues on the premises can accommodate large school groups. Share your expected strength in the enquiry and we'll plan seating and batches accordingly.
How long is the program?+
Plan for roughly half a day including the welcome, classes, performance and thali. Shorter discovery visits and extended full-day formats can be arranged.
Is transport arranged?+
Schools usually arrive by their own buses; Virasat is on the Delhi–Jaipur highway at Kukas with bus parking available. We can suggest local transport partners on request.
Is the food safe for children and is it vegetarian?+
Yes. All food is freshly prepared, 100% vegetarian and mildly spiced for students. Jain / no-onion-garlic meals are available with advance notice.
What does it cost per student?+
Pricing depends on group size, chosen modules and date, with special rates for schools and institutions. Send an enquiry and we'll share a per-student quote.
Can teachers get study material?+
On request we provide a short worksheet / quiz and a summary of the topics covered so learning can continue back in the classroom.
